• 1) INITIAL CONSULTATION

The design process starts with meeting you in person to find out what are your wants and needs for the space, what you like and dislike about your current plot and how you hope to use the garden. A site analysis will follow, looking at what is already in the garden and the surrounding views, where the light falls, soil structure and PH levels of the soil. Here I can get a feel for the space, this is very important and will help to build a design concept.

  • 2) SITE SURVEY

A full topographical survey to map out all existing features, levels and boundaries will need to take place to use as the footprint of my design. This will need to be carried out by a surveyor.

  • 3) DESIGN CONCEPT

A initial design will be produced and presented with images and drawings. This is the first tangible visualisation of your garden and it is a discussion document which allows the design to change and evolve.

  • 4) FINAL DESIGN

Once all aspects are agreed, a detailed design that captures every aspect of the project, including gates, lighting, paving, irrigation and fences will be produced with a full specification that can be passed onto the given landscaper to carry out the work.

  • 5) THE BUILD

A final scaled drawing, along with setting out plans and construction drawings will be passed on to your preferred landscaper.

Once the build is underway, we offer the option for regular site visits to monitor progress, respond to changes and ensure the project is built according to the plans.

The level of regularity is up to you - it can be as little as a site visit at the beginning and end of build, to weekly meetings.

  • 6) PLANTING PLAN

The planting in your garden can also be designed. I am qualified planting designer and I will take into consideration every aspect of the garden and your preferences to produce a planting plan which will show the locations of all the proposed plants, along with a plant schedule listing exact names, sizes and quantities used for costing, ordering and setting out plants. You may wish to remain closely involved with the planting design, so whether you know a little or a lot about plants I will work with you on every step. I can source high quality plants from well-respected trade suppliers and have them delivered directly to your home.
